The digital age of photography has changed the way we share and use photos in our daily lives. We take more pictures in a day then were taken in the last hundred years combined. But a digital image is fleeting. It falls of the news feeds just as quickly as it appeared. A print last forever. It is mean to be viewed by you, your family, friends, and guests.
For my work, and for my clients, I demand the best possible prints. I am a stickler for quality and accuracy in color rendition. The print is the final part of a picture. It's the tangible product. It's the final representation of my work, so It has to be the best of the best. This is why I only use professional print labs and print only on archival paper.
I often get asked how big a print should be? Well...the common photographer response is go big or go home. I encourage my clients to print bigger than they think. Held in you hands an 8x10 looks big, but when viewed from 3-6 ft away, as it would be on your wall, it looks much smaller. Smaller prints are great to frame and set on a coffee table or a your desk at work. Larger sizes work best to hang on a wall and display in your home.
Prints sizes are confusing too, so I encourage my clients to think in terms of the actual print area. An 8x10 has an area of 80 square inches. An 11x14 print has almost double that at 154, and a 16x20 has more than double the 11x14 at 320 square inches. When you print in larger sizes you see more detail in the image. The highlights and shadows are more defined which gives the image more shape and dimension.
When you hire me it isn't just to take the pictures. I also offer my experience and knowledge to help you decide what prints and print sizes are best for your situation.
